What we have here is a custom project that revisited an old issue that we had tried to tackle a couple of years ago,. This time we came up with a better, more complete solution. With the transition from the IBA body armor to the IOTV underway, versatility is key. This system can be integrated to the IOTV's quick release system; it can be worn over the IBA; or it can be worn as a standalone tactical vest. Here is a brief overview of the features and philosophy behind the new components: 1) The front is just the standard IOTV Rack, complete with the hardware to integrate it into the IOTV quick release system, but in ABU with Foliage Green webbing. To use the Rack with an IOTV without the back piece, just connect the 2 short strap assemblies to the shoulder buckles, and the 4 long ones to the sides, and hook it into the quick release points. 2) On the back piece, it can take a standard 72oz, or a short-style 100oz hydration bladder (13”-14” tall). 3) Dual purpose Velcro by the drag handle, with a 5” piece over a 3” piece, so onecan put a flag or name tape (or even a morale patch or blood type patch) on there, as your needs change. 4) Super reinforced drag handle; we build all of our vests with a drag handle that is way stronger than it has to be, since that is probably the last thing you want to fail if you were to get injured. 5) 7 rows and 6 columns of MOLLE attachment points, so you can put just about anything you can think of on the back. 6) Everything is double and triple stitched, for extra strength and durability.
