We've had this design in the works for a while now, since shortly after we launched the IOTV Rack. We've tweaked the design a bit, made it reversible so that it can be work with UCP or Multicam IOTV's (or IBA's with our adapter panel), enhanced several legacy features and added a few new ones.
The primary function of the MK II IOTV Rack is to increase the functional MOLLE real estate on your IOTV, enabling you to put more pouches, mags and other accessories on it, and in more flexible combination. The MK II IOTV Rack does all this without compromising the IOTV's quick release system - In fact, it integrates directly into it! With the US Army now using two different camo patterns (UCP for Iraq and in garrison, and Multicam in Afghanistan), we made it more perfectly reversible. The kidney pockets on the original rack fit two M4/M16 magazines, but the MK II is specifically designed to carry two mags on each side, saving up to 8 columns by 3 rows of MOLLE real estate - enough room for two IFAKs!!
Other features include:
- Two chest pockets with side openings (6"x8" each)
- Two sets of 2" side release buckles, one set each in Foliage Green and Coyote
- Reinforced inside faces of the magazine shingles, designed to withstand substantial wear
- Dual Camo Patterns (Multicam/UCP) for use in Iraq, Afghanistan, or in garrison!
- A total of four 5.56mm/30rnd magazine slots (similar in construction to our mag shingles) on the wings
